Why are jujubis placed above swallowwort (Jilledu) leaf are used to take bath on the day of Radhasaptami?

The ritual of using the swallow wort leaves with jujibis placed over during the bath is because of the numerous benefits that these leaves and fruits have in them. The acidic nature of the leaf and the fruit are very good for the head. The chemicals present in the swallow wort leaf increases the firmness of the hair and cools the brain thus giving a relaxing feel.
Its because of this health benefit this practice is followed over centuries as a ritual by Indians. Hence on this day people take bath this way either in rivers or at least in their house without fail.

The below written mantra on Surya bhagavan is chanted during bathing.

Saptha saptha maha saptha
Saptha dweepa vasundara
Sapth arka Parna madaya
Sapthamyam snana machareth
